Education
Review Office - Accountability Reports
The Education Review Office
reviews all early childhood centres in New Zealand on a regular basis.
Bright Eyes has received excellent reports. For example, in its latest
review of the Infant and Toddler
Centre, the Review Office Reveiwers concluded: "“Children are settled and secure at the centre. The routines and structure of the programme promote self-help and social skills. Children enjoy a programme in which they are actively encouraged to investigate and explore the centre’s environment and participate in play activities. They have positive and supportive relationships with adults. Consequently, children listen well and are open in their interactions with adults and each other.
Teachers respect children as confident learners and are committed to providing a programme that builds on their interests. They effectively model and foster cooperative and respectful relationships with children. Teachers are affirming of children as they play and interact with others. They acknowledge and respond to children’s interests and preferences by providing activities that build on them. The owners plan thoughtfully for continued development and have
implemented effective administration and safety procedures in centre
operation. Teachers have established good relationships with parents and talk regularly with them about their children’s progress. Parents’ involvement with their children in the centre is encouraged and supported by staff, managers and the licensee. Feedback from parent surveys shows that parents positively endorse the work of the staff.
